The Queer History Project: Original Documentary Films by OATM

Our newest initiative, The Queer History Project, premiered at our 2023 festival. In collaboration with the WFU Documentary Film Program, OUT at the Movies produced two short documentaries, focused on celebrating untold stories about Winston-Salem’s LGBTQ+ history. The aim of this initiative is to serve our community by preserving and platforming history and culture, and to give student filmmakers at local colleges a chance to practice their documentary craft.
